Skiers Delight

Set in the rugged mountains of Northern British Columbia this 4200 square foot (4,200 sq ft) day lodge rests at mid-mountain. The client’s goal was to redesign an existing 1970’s building and create a space that connects the building’s interior design with the beauty of the outdoors.
Sun drenched river rock, warm cherry woods and earthy paint colors are a few of the design elements that were employed to inspire the “Fireside Chic” environment. The layout of the space includes a large rugged bar, an open cafeteria, food marche and après ski lounge with an open concept fireplace. This unique see-through fireplace provides a natural gathering area for skiers to nestle around and warm up on those snowy wintery days.
      
The success of the project was easily measured in how both form and function effectively coupled with the overall design requirements and the majesty of the outdoors was visible within the space. Local talent and trades took this project on and completed the work within 6 weeks.
